Weight Gain Supplements

Do you want the best weight gain supplements? Don't buy another thing until you read this. It could save you your hard earned cash.

Are you a hard gainer? Find it hard to build muscle? Your metabolism is too fast, you eat and eat but nothing? Maybe you have tried, and all you ended up getting was fatter. You want more muscle weight, not just weight. Weight gain supplements can definately help you achieve this goal, but most people treat them like a magic formula. They simply don't work well enough to rely totally on them. The quality of weight gain supplements on the market ranges from poor to excellent. By the time you finish here you will have the information to make a truly informed decision.

What not to do
Don't go for weight gain supplements that have enormous amounts of calories, these are often bulked out with sugar (you will get bigger as in fatter). It is a cheap way to add alot of useless calories. Don't go for supplements that contain enormous amounts of protein and little to no carbohydrates. You want a good balance of carbohydrates, protein and fat. You want enough calories to help you gain more muscle, but not so much that you end up with a beer belly. Read the labels, look for quality carbohydrates on the ingredients list, not just sugar.

What to look for instead
Some quality products contain carbohydrates from barley, oat flour and even brown rice. This is your first step to a quality product. You also want whey protein which is standard these days. As for fat look for around 6-8 grams of essential fatty acids. The quality of the ingredients will make a big difference. If the recommended serving equals more than 700 calories, cut it down a little. Try not to pass 700 calories in one sitting. You want to provide your body with just enough nutrients for it to grow some quality muscle. Two shakes a day added to your regular food will add close to 1400 calories a day. That is more than enough to build muscle without gaining large amounts of fat. You should also look for a product that contains Bromelain to aid digestion.

What to be aware of
When you try to gain muscle, you WILL gain some fat along with it, it is almost impossible to not gain some fat. The trick is to minimise the fat gain. You can do this by not getting sucked in by mass gainer 10,000 and adding 2,000 calories in one sitting. You can also do this by eating or drinking quality ingredients. The less processed, the better. Lastly do not stop doing cardio altogether, a couple of short but intense burst of interval training each week (15-20 mins worth) will help lower the fat gain. The cardio should be 2-3 times per week, very intense and very brief.

Weight gain Supplements (Home made version)
Why not make your very own? It is inexensive and just as or if not more effective as a bought product. Try this

Muscle Shake (serves 1)

300 mls of Skim Milk
1 tablespoon of plain low fat yogurt
2 teaspoons honey
1 tablespoon flaxeed oil
1 banana
1/4 cup of quick oats
35 gms of whey protein
Add some ice and mix in a blender

Equals = 640 calories
Protein 42 grams
Carbohydrate 80 grams
Fat 18 grams
Fibre 7 grams

Take one Bromelain capsule with each serving.

As you can see the above gives you plenty of calories, and the right ratio for the macro nutrients. Ina weight gain supplements you want your carbohydrate to be double your protein. Excessive protein will just get excreted. Further to that research has shown that calcium from dairy reduces fat gain from your waist. As the ingredients in the home made version are either not processed or have minimal processing, your results will be superior.
